Our Story
Veteran-led. Mission-built. Community-driven.
Invictus exists because the country’s heroes deserve more than thanks — they deserve homes, careers, and a long-term stake in the communities they served.
Founder
Ren H. Ross, M.S. (Army)
Founder & CEO. Former U.S. Army Special Operations soldier and criminologist.
Ren has helped create more than 800 veteran supportive housing units across Los Angeles and Orange County. His career sits at the rare intersection of disciplined military operations leadership and research-driven public policy — the combination that lets Invictus de-risk complex public-private projects from day one.
He brings direct programmatic experience with Section 8, HUD-VASH, HCD, VHHP, and LIHTC — the funding stacks that move veteran supportive housing from concept to occupancy.
Mission & Values
A clear mission. A non-negotiable standard.
Mission
Deliver veteran-led solutions that restore stability, dignity, and long-term opportunity for the men and women who served.
Veterans First
Veteran hiring, veteran-owned subcontractors, and veteran career advancement are non-negotiable.
Mission-First Discipline
Operations management discipline applied to every contract—timeline, cost, quality, and outcome.
Transparent Reinvestment
Independently verifiable reporting on how every dollar of proceeds re-enters the veteran economy.
Why Our Partnerships Matter
We don’t just win contracts. We give the win back to our veterans.
Most firms chase the contract and pocket the margin. We are different from the greedy rest. When Invictus teams with a developer, prime, or agency, our certifications unlock set-aside and best-value opportunities our partners can’t access alone — and in return, every contract we touch is built to put veterans to work and pour proceeds straight back into the veteran community.
We Unlock the Opportunity
As an SDVOSB and California DVBE, our certifications give partners access to federal set-asides, the mandated DVBE participation requirement, and tie-break and best-value evaluation points — strengthening every bid we join.
We Put Veterans to Work
We don’t just hire veterans where we can on the contracts we win — we prioritize veteran-owned subcontractors and peer mentors, building real career pathways instead of one-off jobs.
We Reinvest the Proceeds
Profits don’t disappear into a shareholder’s pocket. They go back into the community through veteran jobs, training, and events — like our work with the UCLA Dental Student Outreach Network to bring affordable dental care to veterans and their families.
We Report It Honestly
We provide transparent, independently verifiable reporting so partners and agencies see exactly how every dollar strengthens veteran careers and local communities.
